WHAT WE OFFER
Need: Our placements are selected on the actual needs of the Nuru Trust matched with your skill set and abilities.
Support: As soon as you are accepted onto our programme one of our team members will be assigned to you
Commitment: we aim to ensure all your questions are answered within 48 hours.
Safety: We make sure you are aware of the risks and your safety concerns answered at a full orientation on arrival.
Transparency: 100% of the cost are put towards your stay and programs that help our children. Not a single penny goes to overhead or profit.
Childcare: organizing extracurricular activities and other tasks which are all focused on the holistic development of children.
Teaching: teach English, Sport, Reading and writing in various public and private schools.
Office support: grant and proposal writing, fundraising, graphic and web design, event and campaign management, photography, office support including data entry.
Medical: give a hand in a private medical clinic, a public hospital or even at a veterinarian.
Farming: manage the day to day operation of the farm and take care of animals.
The list is not representative of everything we offer to our volunteers. We are very flexible and every time a potential volunteer approaches us we make sure to find him or her the best mission possible, even if they are not part of the ones we initially offer.
Children's home: We offer a homely and comfortable accommodation at the Nuru children's home. We have 3 rooms: one twin and two 4-bed dormitories), shared bathroom.
Capacity: The maximum number of people we can accommodate at any one time is 10 but if the dates you select are not available we will offer you some alternatives.
Length: You can choose between 1 to 8 weeks for your placement length. Applications should be made no less than one month before your flight departure.
Trip & Safari: We have an agreement with a budget safari TO in Tanzania that offers beautiful safaris in the Northern part of Taznaina (Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro crater and more).
Zanzibar is at just one hour in plane you can enjoy one the most beautiful beaches in the world.

The cost include: accommodation in one of our rooms, breakfast, lunch, dinner (Swahili meals), drinking water, room cleaning, in country support, administration and security. Airport transfer A/R. We don't charge a fee for the volunteering itself.
What the cost doesn't include: flights, visa, travel insurance, extra transport to the airport if your bags are missing, vaccinations, anti malaria, safari, excursions, souvenirs, spending money, personal items (phone, internet, snacks, public transport, entertainment and others).
We ask volunteers to pay a non-refundable deposit of 200 USD in advance before their arrival in Tanzania in order to secure their volunteer placement. It can be paid by bank transfer. It is only paid after you have received our acceptance email.

2. Your application will be reviewed and if it's successful we will send you a welcome email containing the following:
- placement form to fill in
- supporting documents required
- volunteer guidebook
3. Once accepted, there are two sets of fees you will need to pay to finalize and secure your placement:
- deposit fee 200 USD non refundable which will need to be paid within 7 days of the acceptance email.
- Balance fee to be paid within 30 days prior to your flight departure.
